Saskatchewan PNP issues invitations to 621 candidates who have tech work experience
Saskatchewan organized its biggest PNP draw since February on September 15. The draw targeted candidates belonging to three tech occupations.
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) issued invitations to candidates belonging to the International Skilled Worker category. Two subcategories specifically were taken into consideration, namely Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand. A total of 621 candidates were invited by Saskatchewan during this draw, and they will now be able to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence in Canada.
Requirements for the draw
To be eligible for an invitation in this draw, candidates belonging to both sub-categories were required to have submitted Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles under the SINP. Moreover, it was mandatory for them to have work experience in any of the following three tech occupations:
- Computer programming; interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
- Web designers and developers (NOC 2175)
- Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
Candidates invited from both the categories also had Educational Credential Assessments, which are meant to showcase how foreign degrees, certificates, and diplomas fare when compared to Canadian credentials. The minimum required score on September 15 was 68 for both sub-categories. The ones who got the invitation with the minimum score either had connections in the province or 10 years of work experience, at least and a Canadian Language Benchmark of 8. Others needed a score of 69 or more.
Role of the EOI system
The EOI system is essential for the SINP to pick the candidates who have the highest chances of succeeding in the regional labor market. Candidates must prove that they are committed to the idea of building a new life in Saskatchewan through their work, education, language fluency, age, and existing connections to the province. The SINP takes these five factors into account when assessing candidates and scores them on the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid.
