Original language test results will no longer be mandatory for some immigration programs
The immigration department of Canada has issued clarifications about language test requirements for the Start-up Visa Program and the other regional pilots. Four Canadian immigration programs will now be accepting copies of language test results in case you cannot provide the original documents.
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has asserted that they are going to accept copies of language tests for the following programs:
- Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIP)
- Agri-Food Pilot (AFP)
- Rural Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)
- Start-up Visa Program
Prospective candidates who want to apply for Canadian immigration must fulfill the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) requirements that are specified for each program. You have to score well in listening, reading, speaking, and writing. All the skill sets have 12 levels each.
Atlantic Immigration Pilot
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, a fast-track immigration program, is available for foreigners who hold job offers in any of the four Atlantic Provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Agri-Food Pilot
The Agri-Food Pilot is targeted at foreigners who are planning to work in specific professions in Canada’s agri-food sector. Eligible candidates should have full-time job offers in greenhouse production, meat processing, harvesting, and farm supervisor positions.
Rural Northern Immigration Pilot
The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is ideal for foreigners who are looking to settle in one of the participating communities. Nine participating communities are accepting applications from eligible candidates at the moment. They need a CLB of at least 4.
Start-up Visa Program
The Start-up Visa Program is perfect for foreign entrepreneurs who are looking forward to starting a business in Canada. The language requirement is at least CLB 5 in all areas.
