British Columbia Organizes New Tech Pilot Draw

British Columbia continued its practice of inviting more skilled workers by issuing invitations to 87 immigration candidates. All the Canadian provinces have been organizing draws regularly from the beginning of 2021 so that the country is en route to recovering from the immigration losses of 2020. The selected candidates will now be able to apply for a provincial nomination.

What is the Tech Pilot?

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program or BC PNP hosted this draw via the Tech Pilot. The Tech Pilot happens to be a fast-track immigration pathway that caters to tech workers and international students who can benefit the booming tech sector of the province.

This pilot was introduced back in 2017 and has since then enjoyed massive success. It has been given several extensions.

The February 23 draw saw British Columbia inviting candidates belonging to the Skills Immigration and Express Entry categories. The subcategories to be targeted specifically were Skilled Worker and International Graduate.

All the candidates needed to have a provincial score of at least 75 in order to qualify. The people who were invited will be able to submit their applications within the next 30 days.

If you are interested in the Tech Pilot, you should ensure that you meet the basic eligibility requirements. You must complete your registration in any of the province’s immigration systems and secure a job offer with a duration of a year at the very least. There are 29 eligible professions listed under the Tech Pilot.

Express Entry candidates look forward to getting provincial nominations because they are awarded an extra 600 CRS points. This puts them at a massive advantage.
