British Columbia Invites IT Immigration Candidates In Tech Pilot Draw

Canadian provinces have been organizing draws regularly to invite skilled, eligible candidates. British Columbia has held quite a few large draws recently. The latest draw was organized by the province on May 18. A total of 82 candidates received invitations. The province of B.C. has invited 4,438 people so far in 2021 through PNP streams.

Canada is one of the most popular countries among immigrants at the moment. More and more people are looking to immigrate to Canada because of the various advantages offered by the country.

Tech Pilot

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invited the candidates via the Tech Pilot for the May 18 draw. The Tech Pilot is ideal for international students and tech workers with professions that are in demand. The selected candidates already had a job offer in any of the 29 eligible occupations under the Tech Pilot. They were also registered in one of British Columbia’s existing streams. The Tech Pilot was created to help the province acquire talented workers to boost its tech industry.

Details of the draw

Candidates invited in the May 18 draw belonged to the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC categories. BC PNP targeted the following subcategories: International Graduate and Skilled Worker. The minimum provincial score required for candidates to be invited was 80.

They will now be able to submit an application for a provincial nomination within the next 30 days. Provincial nominations award candidates with 600 extra CRS points and this increases their chance of getting an invitation to apply for permanent residence from Canada.
