The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program organized a draw on December 8 to invite eligible skilled workers. The BC PNP Express Entry offers immigration options are available to applicants who already have registered profiles in the Express Entry system.

Details of the draw

During the December 8 draw, British Columbia issued invitations to 256 candidates who will now have a chance to submit their application for a provincial nomination. Securing a nomination will help them attain permanent residence in the next draw.

British Columbia targeted candidates belonging to specific categories of the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration (SI) streams. The International Graduates and Skilled Workers categories of the BC PNP received preference alongside the Entry-level and Semi-skilled Workers category under Skills Immigration.

The minimum required score did not remain the same for all streams and categories. People belonging to the SI Skilled Worker category and the SI International Graduate category required 95 points while candidates in the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled category needed 77 points. Under the EEBC stream, candidates in the Skilled Worker stream required 97 points while those in the International Graduate stream needed 97 points.

What next?

The people who got an invitation to apply will now be able to submit their complete applications within the next month. It is important to remember that the invitation to apply is not a guarantee for a nomination. If you want to be eligible for the BC PNP, you should have a full-time job offer from any provincial employer.
