British Columbia Hosts Latest PNP Tech Pilot Draw

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has been distributing hundreds of invitations in different categories over the last two weeks. The British Columbia PNP targets international workers who can settle down in the province and fill the labor gaps.

British Columbia is one of the most popular immigrant-friendly provinces in Canada. It has been doing a great job of issuing invitations in larger batches to eligible candidates who can help to boost the economy of the province.

Details of the draw

On May 11, the province hosted two new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws. A total of 379 skilled candidates received invitations from British Columbia, and they can now submit their applications for a provincial nomination. Candidates want to get nominated by a province because they get 600 extra CRS points automatically which puts them at an advantage.

British Columbia has been organizing two different rounds of invitations every fortnight since February. One of the draws has targeted general candidates, while the other draw has catered to food service and restaurant managers alongside wholesale and retail trade managers.

The general draw saw 331 candidates belonging to the Express Entry BC, or EEBC and Skills Immigration (SI) streams receive invitations. British Columbia targeted a few specific sub-categories- Skilled Worker, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled and International Graduate. The candidates selected in this draw had secured a score in the range of 77 and 94 points.

The second draw also took place via the EEBC and SI streams. A total of 48 invitations were issued, and the minimum score was 112. The invited candidates had work experience under NOC 0621 or NOC 0631.
