Alberta Issued Invitations To 200 Express Entry Candidates
Alberta, like all other Canadian provinces, has been inviting more skilled workers this year to make up for the immigration losses suffered last year.
On February 10, Alberta organized a draw to invite candidates belonging to the Express Entry pool. The invited candidates will now have the chance to submit applications for a provincial nomination. This Provincial Nominee Program or PNP draw targeted candidates with existing profiles in the Express Entry system.
A total of 200 Express Entry candidates received invitations from the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program for the provincial Express Entry stream. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score required for candidates to secure invitations was 301 for this particular draw.

Canada uses Express Entry as its primary application management system for the three economic immigration pathways. The candidates who are already registered in the pool stand a chance of getting a provincial nomination from Alberta if they satisfy all the prerequisites.
The nomination proves to be of immense help because it automatically adds 600 points to a candidate’s CRS score. Their chances of securing a permanent residence ITA go up considerably as a result.
The pandemic has forced Canada to impose travel restrictions and they are yet to be lifted. In order to make the immigration process swifter and more efficient, Alberta is only taking candidates who are staying and working in the province into consideration at the moment.
Alberta requires candidates to have professional experience in any occupation that can help in the economic development of the province. The province lists the professions they will not consider at all.
