The Canadian province of Alberta will soon have two new PNPs for international student graduates looking to start their own business in the province. Foreign graduates from Alberta post-secondaries will be able to use the two new immigration options and complete their move successfully.
Two new immigration pathway options
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) will launch the two immigration pathways so as to encourage international graduates to go ahead with their new business plans in Alberta. As a result, the economy will soon have more high-paying jobs, and that will help diversify the economy.
International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream
The International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream started on October 26, and it will cater to recent international student graduates from post-secondaries in Alberta. This Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is based on an Expression of Interest system, and it is now open for submissions.
Candidates who provide their Expression of Interest will be evaluated by the AINP and awarded points. Candidates with the highest ranks will get an invitation to submit their Business Application. The candidates who get the invitation or request will be the only ones allowed to access the AINP portal and begin the application process. Candidates should know that the request does not mean a guarantee that applicants are going to secure Canadian permanent residence.
Foreign Graduate Start-up Visa Stream
Alberta will introduce the Foreign Graduate Start-up Visa Stream in January 2021. It will be for international student graduates from top universities and colleges in the United States planning to start a business and live in Alberta communities.
The information about this stream will be released publicly later this year. Candidates who are interested in the International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream should look up the eligibility criteria and check if they meet all the requirements.
